Welcome to our Acworth Real Estate site! Acworth is located approximately 30 miles north of downtown Atlanta, and spawns through 4 neighboring counties: Cobb, Cherokee, Bartow, and Paulding. Downtown Acworth is located in Cobb County, and primarily lies in Cobb & Cherokee Counties. Acworth is known as the "Lake City", for being home to Lake Acworth and also part of Lake Allatoona.

Originally named Northcutt Station for its stop along the Western-Atlantic railroad operation, W-A railroad engineer Joseph Gregg renamed Northcutt Station to Acworth for his hometown in Acworth, New Hampshire after being inspired by Acworth´s beauty. When war came in 1862, "The Great Locomotive Chase" roared through Acworth, and has given Acworth a unique part in our country´s history. Although Acworth avoided being set on fire until late 1864, much of Acworth was burned. After the Reconstruction, Acworth blossomed into a city flourishing with activity. In 1950, Lake Acworth was completed and has been the source of many recreational activities since then.
