Welcome to our Alpharetta Real Estate site! Alpharetta and Milton County first dates it’s settlers to the
1830’s, when a small area along between the North Georgia Mountains and the Chattahoochee River became a village named New Prospect Campground. This village became soon became a prosperous trading post, and the rich farmland was excellent for farming cotton. The area was chartered in December of 1858, becoming the county seat of Milton County. The city’s new name, Alpharetta, was derived from “alpha” meaning first, and “retta” meaning town. When Milton County faced financial hardship post the depression in the 1930’s, they merged with Fulton County to avoid bankruptcy.
